Senior engineer and fractional CTO in Riga, Latvia. I built my first website in 2010, have worked as a professional engineer since 2016, and have run my own company, SIA Cunskis, since October 2025. I build and operate marketplaces, lending systems and AI-assisted products, mostly in Laravel and Vue.
Timeline
- 2010
- First website, at fifteen: a Counter-Strike 1.6 clan page. It was fun, and it is why I am here.
- 2012
- An anime streaming project for Latvia that took part in the first UniCon conventions and later grew into AnimeForums.lv.
- 2015
- Started studying at Alberta College in Riga and, almost immediately, an internship at Schneider Electric.
- 2016–2018
- Schneider Electric, Riga: trainee for four months, then Junior Software Engineer. A planner for three-sided SMD boards and work on EAGLE, the factory management system.
- 2018–2022
- Latvijas Pasts, Middle Software Engineer, PHP and Laravel: an interface for industrial weighing scales, the Expresspasts service, and an e-signature system for post offices with physical signature pads.
- 2022–2024
- Dun & Bradstreet, Senior Software Engineer in the Latvian office: the Latvian data behind D&B Hoovers and a company-indexing engine for Latvia. The only engineer on site, responsible for architecture and delivery.
- 2023
- Fluss: my own multi-tenant marketplace platform, started alongside the day job. First client OtakuFest, a convention shop that has since closed.
- 2025
- RGP SIA, Senior Software Engineer: Kreboks, an agricultural B2B marketplace on Fluss with state-registry integrations, 500 additional tenants and a target of 6,000. SIA Cunskis registered in October.
- 2025–now
- Vuelo, Senior Software Engineer on contract: an FCA-authorised Buy-Now-Pay-Later platform for travel, one of seven engineers, responsible for fraud prevention and the travel search engines.
- 2026
- Jobsucher, an AI-assisted job-search product of my own, in invite-only MVP. Fluss reaches 5 languages, 8 plug-ins and 51 payment gateways; Jobsucher and Elontrade use it as their payment system.
How I work
- Every feature starts with a written scope and ends with a demo. Nothing reaches production without a testing window for the client's team.
- The main branch takes pull requests only, migrations go forward only, and when something breaks the root cause is written down before the fix is merged.
- I say no in writing. A request that should not be built gets a reason, not a delay.
